With the TL-WR842ND router, there is a catch: the stock firmware is obtained from the OEM: http://www.tplink.com/en/support/download/?model=TL-WDR3320
The OpenWrt firmware is now in progress on http://www.right.com.cn/forum/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=141401&page=1
But it seems the offical firmware comes with a different RSA signature, so the head of modded OpenWrt firmware is different that can only be write with a third-party u-boot or a SPI programmer, but not the offical flash web pages.
maybe this method would work if the firmware is chinese? https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=339567#p339567
The modded source code is here: https://code.csdn.net/hackpascal/openwrt/tree/master
