Mi Router 4A 100m International The Xiaomi Mi Router 4A 100M is an indoor wireless router based on the MediaTek MT7628AN SoC, with three 10/100 Ethernet ports (2xLAN + 1xWAN), dual band 802.11bgn+ac (dual radio) WiFi and four external non-detachable antennae. The original model ships with v2.x chinese firmware. July 2022: The following instructions are subject to review If you currently buy a device it probably comes with the software-version 3.xx which has a different flash layout (“OS1” starts at 0x260000 instead of 0x160000). So you first have to flash an older version via TFTP, then use OpenWRTInvasion to get a root-shell and flash OpenWrt. Download miwifi_r4ac_all_c4b35_2.18.28.bin, rename it to test.bin and put it in the root-folder of your TFTP-Server. Set a static IP-address and start a DHCP-Server. Now plug in the router while holding the reset button until the amber LED starts flashing. The router will now download and flash the test.bin-file. Restart the router once the LED starts flashing blue. Once the router finished booting, go to http://192.168.31.1/ and set up the router Use OpenWRTInvasion to get a root-shell Download the openwrt-sysupgrade-image to /tmp and write it to the flash with mtd -r write <image> OS1 Flash Layout Find out flash layout, then add the flash layout table here (copy, paste, modify the example).
