devolo WiFi pro 1200e

The devolo WiFi pro 1200e is a wall mountable access point with:

• Dual band 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi (2 × 2 IEEE 802.11ac 866Mbps, 2 × 2 IEEE 802.11n 300Mbps)
• 2x 1Gbit ethernet ports (with Power over Ethernet support)
• Kensington Lock

Set a password for the root user as prompted on first set-up of OEM firmware.

1. Upload OpenWrt sysupgrade image via SSH to the device. Use /tmp as the destination folder on the device. User is root, password previously set in the web interface.
2. Install OpenWrt with:

   sysupgrade -n -F /tmp/<openwrt-image-name>

There is a pin header labeled J2 soldered into the board already that you can connect to. Looking at the board, when the reset button is facing up, J2 is located close to the “golden square” in the center of the board, straight below the reset button. It is a 4 pin header aligned vertically with the pins being:

• VCC 3.3V
• GND
• TX (devolo transmits here)
• bottom: RX (devolo receives here)
