OEM/ODM name: Sercomm S1500 AWI. The Beeline SmartBox PRO is a CPE wireless router based on the MT7621 platform.

Beeline SmartBox PRO

  1. Remove all dots from the factory image filename (except the dot before file extension)
  2. Upload and update the firmware via the original web interface
  3. Two options are possible after the reboot:
    • OpenWrt - that's OK, the mission accomplished
    • Stock firmware - install Stock firmware (to switch booflag from Sercomm0 to Sercomm1) and then OpenWrt factory image.

1. Change the bootflag to Sercomm1 in OpenWrt CLI and then reboot:

2. Optional: Update with any version of stock firmware if you want to overwrite OpenWrt in Slot 0 completely.

1. Compile sercomm-recovery under the Linux:

git clone https://github.com/danitool/sercomm-recovery.git
make

2. Connect the router with a cable and run sercomm-recovery:

sudo ./sercomm-recovery enp0s3 recovery.bin

where:

  • enp0s3 - network interface connected the router
  • ifconfig - list on available network interfaces
  • recovery.bin - recovery image

3. Wait until the router is flashed and rebooted.

It's also possible to create a recovery image containing OpenWrt.

You can use mtd0 (“ALL”) backup as a recovery image.
