The WD007 (and updated WD009) are battery powered routers sold under the RAVPower brand. They run on the Mediatek MT7628 + MT7610e chipset.

Generic Router

OpenWrt support

Not supported.

Board boots MT7628EVB image without 5GHz support and full memory. Minor modifications to the MT7628.dts allows 5GHz support and enables full 16MB/64MB. Next steps involve porting to a dedicated dts and merging the commits.

Installation

The WD007 will boot the MT7628EVB image, albeit without multiple features running (5GHz, SD, LEDs, etc).

The easiest way to get OpenWrt on the device is to use a pin to push the reset button as the device is powered on. After several seconds, the WiFi light will go off and the WAN light will turn on. At this point, a uBoot webserver will be running on 10.10.10.128. Upload the stock MT7628EVB image, and you'll have a working version of OpenWrt.

If building your own, a few tweaks can be made to the MT7628 configuration file to get 5GHz working. Hopefully we can get official device support shortly.
