Unsupported: WIP
Pages in the unsupported:
namespace are intended to deliver general information about an “unsupported” status.
They should help users to better understand the reasons and the consequences of this “unsupported”.
Since these pages can be reached via a dataentries of very different devices, the descriptions should be of general nature, or cover all the different devices affected by this “unsupported”. They shall not describe any device specifics.
- What does it mean, “WIP”?
- WIP means Work In Progress, i.e. someone has started working on getting this device supported, but has not finished yet. A bootable OpenWrt image might or might not be available.
- What is the reason for the WIP status?
- No one else attempted to get this device supported.
- What consequences does this have in regards to your expectations?
- Expectation: Fully working device
- Reality: Device working from not at all over LEDs not working up to wifi / network not working.
- Will this status change over time? If yes, in what timeframe?
- Search the forum and ask who is working on it and what the current support status is.
- What can you do now?
- Easy / Short term: Get a device which is supported by OpenWrt.
- Hard / Long term: Wait until support for your device has been added (might happen within 32minutes up to 32 years or even never, nobody knows for sure)
- Try to help in getting this device supported: Search the forum for discussions about your device, deliver missing information, ...
