Wavlink WL-WN551X3

This is a Mesh MT7981B WLAN Router with 3 Gigabit Ports, 256MB RAM and 128MB Flash. It exists in three packaging configurations (X1 = one piece, X2 = two pieces, X3 = three pieces). The board always reads WL-WN551X3.

In the vendor firmware dropbear is deactivated by default. Luckily this is only a simple hack in the /etc/init.d/dropbear script.

The WebUI can generate backup files that are encrypted with openssl. Do decrypt them to a tar archive simply run:

If you changed contents of the file reencode it with

Vendor firmware is a signed sysupgrade package. Extract data with fwtool (part of each OpenWrt firmware).
