Installation
Don't try to repartition the device's eMMC drive, it could be signed, and would brick the device.
This device requires serial port access to be flashed, a video showing how to take it apart is posted on YouTube.
Connect to the serial port of the SAX1V1K, plug it in, and let it boot. Wait for the “VERIFY_IB: Success. verify IB ok” message.
Once reached, hit Enter, for the SAX1V1K login: prompt. Log in using username root, and your unit's serial number, in uppercase.
The number can be found on the sticker next to the Ethernet ports.

Using vi paste the open.sh script from https://github.com/MeisterLone/Askey-RT5010W-D187-REV6/blob/master/Patch/open.sh into /tmp/open.sh.
You now have the opportunity to change the initial ipaddr and serverip values for the TFTP transfer, to mach your local network.
Save the file, make it executable, and run it

Download the SAX1V1K initramfs image, and rename it recovery.img.
Change your TFTP host's IP to 192.168.0.1, disable the firewall, start the TFTP server and serve recovery.img by connecting your host to one of the LAN side Ethernet ports.
Execute reboot (it isn't instant), to make the unit restart and download the image from the TFTP server.

Once OpenWRT have booted, ssh to the device (switch your client back to DHCP, router's IP is now 192.168.1.1) or keep using serial to wget or transfer (scp) the SAX1V1K sysupgrade image to the /tmp folder.
Adjust the u-boot variables to be able to boot OpenWRT, and run sysupgrade.

The router will now restart, and boot into OpenWRT.
As a final step, perform a reset using the reset button, hold it pressed until the blue Spectrum logo LED starts flashing red.
