The Asus Lyra (MAP-AC2200) is a MU-MIMO Tri-Band WiFi router, which has one 2.4GHz and two 5GHz WiFi Interfaces, making it an interesting choice for wireless backhaul or repeater applications. The radios support MCS 0-9 (up through 256 QAM) for devices and paths that are compatible with those high-density modulations.
Note: The first 5 GHz radio (IPQ4019) is limited to ch. 36-64. The second 5 GHz radio (QCA9886), is limited to ch. 100-140. This is consistent with OEM firmware and is a result of the ART data and the data in the OEM firmware's cal data.
It has one 1G LAN port and one 1G WAN port, with six internal antennas.
The device is equipped with a Bluetooth chip. It is powered by an external 12V, 2A power adapter and supports DFS and 256QAM.

Note: Reset router to factory defaults if it has been previously configured. Installing OpenWrt on this device requires a two-step process, first writing the initramfs image from the OEM firmware - and then finalizing the installation by sysupgrading the real device firmware.

if LuCI is installed.The Asus MAP-AC2200 doesn't have a reliable push-button tftp recovery, as it can't deal with changed UBI partitioning (OEM and OpenWrt differ in this regard). Recovering the MAP-AC2200 requires opening the device and attaching a serial console to the unpopulated header “J35” (2mm spacing), the pinout is: 3.3v - RX - TX - GND (square is VCC).
Prepare your tftp server (192.168.1.70) and provide “asus_map-ac2200-initramfs-fit-uImage.itb” as “HIVESPOT.trx” to the MAP-AC2200.

Once the initramfs image has booted, sysupgrade can be used to install a known-working sysupgrade image of OpenWrt from the login shell provided on the serial console.
