Unielec U7621-06 The UniElec model U7621-06 is a router with 4 gigabit LAN ports, 1 gigabit WAN port, and up to 2 wifi radios and LTE modem possibility. The platform is very flexible. It can be ordered with wifi card or without it. Board have multiple gpio and two GPLED.

The UniElec model U7621-01 is a router with 4 gigabit LAN ports, 1 gigabit WAN port and built in dual band wifi. It also has a mini-pcie slot for a LTE modem.

This board might come with a different firmware versions (MediaTek SDK, PandoraBox, Padavan, etc.). If your board comes with PandoraBox, you can install OpenWrt using sysupgrade. Just SSH to the router and perform forced sysupgrade (due to a board name mismatch). The default IP of this board should be: 192.168.1.1 and username/password: root/admin. In case of a different firmware, you can use web based recovery described below.

Use the following command to perform the sysupgrade (for the 256MB RAM/16MB flash version):

sysupgrade -n -F openwrt-ramips-mt7621-u7621-06-256M-16M-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin 
  1. Change the file name from “openwrt-18.....squashfs-sysupgrade.bin” to “root_uImage” (without extension)
  2. Connect your computer to the LAN1 router
  3. Statically set your computer network card 10.10.10.3/24
  4. Run Tftpd64, select network card 10.10.10.3 and select directory with “root_uImage” file
  5. Press and hold the reset button
  6. Input the power supply to the router
  7. After about 30 seconds the router (10.10.10.123) will start downloading the firmware, which will be noticeable in the Tftp64 program
  8. Release the reset button
  9. Set the computer network card in DHCP mode
  10. Expect to ping the device 192.168.1.1/24

It is worth observing in the above image that when a second, full-height mini-PCIe WLAN card is installed in the second slot (marked WIFI1), it will likely physically obstruct the screw and stand-off for the motherboard PCB for mounting into the aluminium case. Some slight modification of your second full-height WLAN card might be required to allow the motherboard to be screwed back into the manufacturer's case. Half-height cards are supported in both slots.
