T-Home Speedport W 503V Typ C (ARV8528PW22)
The T-Home Speedport W 503V Typ C (ARV8528PW22) is an IAD sold by Deutsche Telekom with an ADSL2+ Annex B/J Modem, 802.11abgn Wifi and two FXS ports as well as a S0 bus connector. The device is manufactured by Arcadyan.

Please note that area/partition “[5] Flash Image” is the complete flash, so do never try to erase or reflash this area. Also don't mess with areas 0, 1 and 4 as you might brick your device. |
Backup the original firmware
Please backup your original firmware. You may need it for recovery and it also contains some device unique data. Basically you can do the same as in Arcadyan ARV752DPW22 (Vodafone EasyBox 803A), but I needed a passwort to enter command mode. It turns out that it was the first 4 letters of the device password. This password is written on the device sticker.
Another difference is, that the W503V uses a smaller flash chip, so you need to use brntool with the correct imagesize:

Flash custom firmware

Start your serial terminal, press the space bar 3 times (as soon as the device is powered on) to access the bootloader. The access password are the first 4 digits of your “Gerätepasswort” (device password). Press return to see help menu. Press “!” to access the hidden administrator mode with extended
options. Press “k” to run the minikernel, which will run a webserver on 192.168.2.1:80 with recovery options.

Debricking
Enable UART
Currently it is unclear how to enable UART mode on this device.
While stupidly poking around at the board, i found the following:
- Connecting R65 with the side facing the CPU to 3,3V enables CFG 05 mode
Also there are some hints at the page of speedport w504v, but to me it does look as if R80 is the correct choice here.
Sadly i seemed to completely brick the device by connecting C557 to ground.
