The Linksys E2500 was a router released by Linksys around April 2011. It features a Broadcom BCM43236 dual-band wireless chip. It has 4, 10/100 ethernet ports, and a single 10/100 WAN port.
Devices with Broadcom WiFi chipsets have limited OpenWrt supportability (due to limited FLOSS driver availability for Broadcom chips). Consider this when chosing a device to buy, or when deciding to flash OpenWrt on your device because it is listed as supported.
See Broadcom WiFi for details.
Login to the default Linksys E2500 Web Interface (Default factory setting is http://192.168.1.1/).
Next, go to Administration, and then click the Firmware Upgrade option in the sub-menu. Click browse, upload the .bin you downloaded from above, click “Start Upgrade”, and wait for the router to reboot.
