Opening the case
Describe what needs to be done to open the device, e.g. remove rubber feet, adhesive labels, screws, ...

Restore
In my case restore does not work, so I use debricking. The restoration procedure works, but make sure that you switch the tftp transfer mode to binary.
1. Install TFTP
apt-get install tftp tftpd-hpa
2. Download and extract firmware to /var/lib/tftpboot/ and rename file to something simple, for example firmware.bin
3. Set permissions to file
sudo chmod 666 /var/lib/tftpboot/firmware.bin sudo chown tftp /var/lib/tftpboot/firmware.bin
4. Set IP to your PC eth interface to 192.168.1.11
5. Press and hold 5 seconds reset button on the router and power it on. Router will became TFTP server with IP 192.168.1.6 And router will wait in this mode for a while, so do not hurry.
6. Upload firmware
# tftp 192.168.1.6 69 tftp> connect 192.168.1.6 69 tftp> binary tftp> put firmware.bin
7. Wait for a few minutes and the router will reboot to working state. In case you restore original Edimax firmware, the settings such as admin password will be remembered from before, even if you had installed OpenWrt in the meantime.

Debricking
1. Setup your PC like in restore section and add aditional IP to your PC eth interface 192.168.2.89
2. Connect to serial console(see above)
For a second you will see menu the in console :
Please choose the operation: 1: Load system code to SDRAM via TFTP. 2: Load system code then write to Flash via TFTP. 3: Boot system code via Flash (default). 4: Entr boot command line interface. 5: Load ucos code to SDRAM via TFTP Client. 7: Load Boot Loader code then write to Flash via Serial. 9: Load Boot Loader code then write to Flash via TFTP.
3. Choose 2, but do not press many times, because next will be the question
2: System Load Linux Kernel then write to Flash via TFTP. Warning!! Erase Linux in Flash then burn new one. Are you sure?(Y/N)
If you press not Y, it will continue to boot.
4. Select:

That's all, router will automatically reset and boot normally.
