Supported Versions
Status
This device is supported in backfire 10.03 when using the brcm-2.4 branch and the proprietary wl-mimo broadcom wireless driver. It also works using the brcm47xx branch and the open source b43 driver.
Attitude Adjustment (12.09) with 802.11g support: First download the openwrt-brcm47xx-squashfs.trx image. If your router will be offline while you're configuring it (e.g. if the computer you're configuring from is not co-located with your source of internet) download the associated kmod-b43 and kmod-cfg80211 packages for offline installation. Flash the image using OpenWrt's web interface, tftp, or the Asus firmware update utility. If the router is connected to the internet, install the two mentioned packages through the router's web interface (System → Software); otherwise manually install packages by sending them to the router's “/tmp” folder using scp then ssh over and install them using “opkg install file.ipk”. Once the packages are shown as installed under the web interface (System → Software), reboot the router, and enable wireless networking via the web interface (Network → Wifi).
As of Attitude Adjustment 12.09, 802.11n is working. For installation, refer to the bcm47xx platform's page
