MikroTik RouterBOARD RB450Gx4

Under Construction!
This page is currently under construction. You can edit the article to help completing it.

The RB450Gx4 is an Ethernet router with five Gigabit Ethernet ports, a serial port, 512 MB NAND memory and a microSD card slot. In addition, it supports full 10 V - 57 V input by two power jacks or PoE (802.3af/ at or passive PoE) and can provide PoE output for Ethernet port #5. The device is powered by a quad core ARM CPU, has 1 GB of RAM and supports hardware IPsec encryption.

MikroTik RouterBOARD RB450Gx4

OpenWrt support

Work in progress.

Supporting activities

Experimental firmware

  • Heavy work in progress, however everything is functional, including SD card support.
  • Native support for RouterBOOT bootloader (via an auxiliary loader).
  • Prebuilt images from the experimental branch are available (LuCI included) here.

Installation instructions

Common Procedures for Mikrotik RouterBoard Products should always be observed, as they contain general instructions for netbooting and installation, as well as reverting back to RouterOS.

1. Netboot openwrt-ipq40xx-mikrotik_rb450gx4-initramfs-fit-uImage.elf. Note that the port marked with the PoE sticker is the netboot port.

2. ubiformat the “ubi” partition

3. Install openwrt-ipq40xx-mikrotik_rb450gx4-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin via sysupgrade. In case you are downloading the sysupgrade image via wget, please note that the PoE port is currently LAN1, while port 5 (the last one) is the WAN port.
