STUN (Simple Traversal of UDP through NATs)

The Session Traversal Utilities for NAT is often used in connection of NAT with VoIP.

STUN client

  1. your hard-/softphone has to support STUN
  2. you install and configure the package stun-client on your OpenWrt NAT-Gateway to make your hard-/softphones traverse your NAT

Description: The STUN protocol (Simple Traversal of UDP through NATs) is described in the
 IETF RFC 3489, available at http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3489.txt. It's used to
 help clients behind NAT to tunnel incoming calls through. This server is the
 counterpart to help the client identify the NAT and have it open the proper
 ports for it.

STUN daemon

This part is usually found somewhere in the Internet, e.g. provided by you SIP provider.

Daemon configuration

The file /etc/config/stund provides the configuration for the stund STUN server package.

Sections

There is only one unnamed section of type stund defined. Only one instance of this section is allowed.

Options in "stund"

Below is the listing of defined options for the stund section.
